These two videos are wonderful demonstrations for students in chemistry. After viewing the videos students will be able to perform extractions on their own.
The chemistry world news blog is a wonderful website for up-to-date news and events that relate to chemistry. The article More Methanol discusses the science behind the chemical and how business are expanding to supply the demand for methanol. This is a great example for students so they may gain an understanding both the specific science and the business behind the science.
Derek Wenmoth, writer of the blog Future of Secondary Ed., discusses in great detail how integrating technology is the only way education can be directed. This enables students to have a more real-life scenario type learning experience, which is more suitable for the world today.
The blog post by woodchurch science about the mindmap of separating ions is a wonderful example for more abstract thinking students to follow when trying to understand and make connections with new topics. Students often struggle with the arrangement of how theoretical ideas in science work and mindmapping is a wonderful way to organize those ideas.
